Integration in Warsaw – overview

When trying to define and determine the scope of integration of allotment and community gardens in Warsaw, the complexity of this phenomenon emerges, along with the difficulty in defining one type or scenario for such cooperation. Each garden has different internal structure, in mention just a few: social, governance or relationship between members as well as divergent position that undertakes in the wider urban realm, way of noting the need for cooperation and existing attitudes towards integration. In some cases, gardens have gone further and even came up with some ideas for integration in the form of concrete activities for such integration.

In the first stage of our research we distinguished three basic physical dimensions of the process. Integration can happen, starting with primary, between members (gardeners), inside-outside (garden-community) and between this two types of gardens (community gardens and allotment gardens).
